Earth day at school

Today in school we read Dr. Suess' book The Lorax and no it's not just made for kids if you "infere" it sends a great message to everyone telling them how important it is to recycle to save our planet before it gets puluted. So today during Earth Day try to make a difference, like when my class went around our school and picked up trash, then we recycled the trash and plasic we found. So remember to help our planet today!

Environmental project

So, as I told you before we are doing an environmental project in my literature and lanuage arts (reading and writing) class at school. Here are some ways you can stay "GREEN."

• only use energy star rated appliences which is a R with a circle around it and a yellow star
  
• caulk drafty doors and windows
• use ceiling fans instead of the air conditioning
• reduse, reuse,recycle
• use a dishwasher instead of hand washing dishes
• use full loads and cold water for laundry
• unplug all apliences, tv's, computers, electronics,ect... because it still uses electric when there off put plugged in
• turn off lights
• recycle cans, bottles, plastic, papers,ect. at your local recycling dump station
• use short showers
• use showers instead of baths
• use the microwave for smaller foods instead of the oven because it uses electric to heat the oven up for that app. 5 min. your waiting to put your food in
• save money it will help you and the economy
• insulate you attic, house, or anything that is spacy
• check your hot water heaters
• check your lint build-up in your washing and drying mashines

Here a just a few ways to help the environment we came up with to help the environment. I'm sure you could come up with more, just remember to do everything with "help the environment" in mind and we can make a difference.

Hi, my name is McKenna and I am in 6th grade. I am in school doing Literature and Luanguage Arts. My teacher is really nice and decided to let us blog about our work and what we do in literature. Mostly, so we could practis writing Skills and to comprehend what we do in school.
Currently, we are studing Environmental issues and discussing ways that as a 6th grader we can help and prevent. We have been taking alot of notes and doing a constisant amount of reasearch. We are making Environmental poasters in Art class and writing paragraphs of why it's important.
